37 Nach einer Rede lud ein Pharisäer Jesus ein, bei ihm zu essen. Jesus ging zu ihm und begab sich zu Tisch. 38 Als der Pharisäer sah, dass er sich vor dem Essen nicht die Hände wusch, war er verwundert. 39 Da sagte der Herr zu ihm: O ihr Pharisäer! Ihr haltet zwar Becher und Teller außen sauber, innen aber seid ihr voll Raffsucht und Bosheit. 40 Ihr Unverständigen! Hat nicht der, der das Äußere schuf, auch das Innere geschaffen? 41 Gebt lieber als Almosen, was ihr habt; und siehe, alles ist für euch rein.

Ein Mann lädt Jesus zum Essen ein. Jesus nimmt die Einladung an. Sein Gastgeber beobachtet ihn: Jesus wäscht sich nicht die Hände – im alten Israel nicht nur eine Hygienemaßnahme, sondern ein religiöses Ritual. Ich stelle mir vor, wie der Gastgeber irritiert reagiert.
(Reflexionsfrage 1)
Auch in unserer Zeit und Kultur kennen wir Sitten, Regeln und Normen – und sind irritiert, wenn sie verletzt werden. Wie reagiere ich, wenn eine mir wichtige Regel verletzt wird, auch wenn es scheinbar nur um Äußerlichkeiten geht.
(Reflexionsfrage 2)
«Hat nicht der, der das Äußere schuf, auch das Innere geschaffen?», sagt Jesus. Gott hat das Äußere geschaffen, das, was wir einander zeigen. Und Gott hat die innere Haltung dazu geschaffen. Was zeige ich nach außen – und was bewegt mich im Inneren? Lasse ich Gott da hineinschauen?

Ich höre die Lesung ein zweites Mal und achte besonders darauf wie Jesus alles für rein erklärt für die, die großzügig und ehrlich leben.
Meine Gedanken und Gefühle mache ich zu einem Gebet und vertraue Gott an, was mich bewegt.
So bitten wir Gott um seinen Segen für das Kommende.
Es segne und begleite uns Gott der Vater und der Sohn und der Heilige Geist. Amen.
